Life after Bangkit #3
Hello nice to meet you again, so today story i want to share my experience as mentor Bangkit Academy 2023 and also about life after bangkit, second story i already shared is about my first experience in Bangkit Academy 2022 as Cohort Mobile Development.Many things I learned from Bangkit cohort 2022 from technical to soft-skill stuff previously I didn't know about this felt empty but now I’m full of this knowledge, the best way to learn is by teaching others so that we can get feedback from others that I continue my life in bangkit academy as mentor mobile development.
Previously i’ve been a mentor of the MD-37 group what a nice and first-hand experience for me to handle cohort, My first MD 37 group is the most exciting here. I do weekly sessions. Every day, this session I give different things every week, starting from technical academic soft skills. Sometimes we play games to relieve fatigue from course work or submissions, which attracts several cohorts. coming from non-IT, they are very enthusiastic about learning IT, especially Android application development, every week we also share about non-IT and IT things. With this we can learn new things together, at that time I had a cohort from business management here we were discussing capstones. project then with the cohort I can exchange ideas regarding building a startup from the business side and also the technical cohort to provide information on the technical side.
Apart from that, I provide free time outside of the week for me and the MD-37 cohort to study together on the Discord server. Here we discuss coding courses or help the cohort if they experience problems while studying Android development.
from that picture when me and my cohorts of md-37 learning together about implementation of viewpager in activity also how to use fragment in viewpager, i usuaslly mentoring outside meet every night, from this lesson also we can discuss together about android development, in the month June was my last month with MD-37. There we studied and explored together. In the end, they successfully completed their career from start to finish. Thank you, all my cohort graduated and got 4 disticitions. Not only that, I continued as a mentor in this 2nd batch. I got the opportunity to mentor batch 2 as a non-class mentor, which is different from a class mentor, I work as freelance with my friends, here we work based on projects or orders, such as creating a website last month. My friend and I worked on a website project for a kindergarten. This website requires a management system and student registration, there are many things that need to be done starting from designing the features related to what the client wants then to the website database.
The first thing before starting work, I planned the time for working on the website. In this work, we used a Gann chart to divide the work sessions each week from start to finish. In project management, we also used GitHub to collaborate together in working on the website project so that it was easier to manage changes later. Every 5 days we do a stand up for the progress of the design. Each of our teams consists of 3 people acting as interface and system designers, front end and back end. I applied all of these things after what I learned in the previous Bangkit 2022 at the capstone project, In terms of work, there were also several problems such as bugs and lack of time due to bug fixes, but we were able to resolve all of this on time
After this project was completed, we tested it with the Kindergarten and regarding how this website works, the kindergardeen felt satisfied with what we had done, therefore I want to share how to work as a freelancer in creating websites with the next generation and projects. management they might be able to implement. in a capstone project or other projects in the future as well as Android application development
a unique story
beside being mentor of bangkit development in bangkit 2023 i’m really love about aviation stuff at begining of bangkit 2023 i’m trying to looking for 2023 cohorts that have same hobbies, tadaa literlly i got 3 cohorts have same intresting like me and we decided to make a channel in discord server where we can gather, after small chit chat and introduction at friday night we decided to have voice group call Avtalk stands for Aviation Talk : D during Avtalk my cohorts start introduce their self and me as mentor ( funfact they came from diffrent learning path like Machine Learning, Cloud Computing and Mobile Development) after that they know each others next topic we just had common aviation topic.
In our avtalk manly about aviation industry our topic ussually about planes, new technology in planes, job vacancy in aviation industry, and internship sharing who been landed in aviation industry previouslu it was so excited to hear them. Avtalk ususally we have every friday night at 8pm and its free for others cohort to join, like in this avtalk we just had sharing session from who got internship in GMF ( Garuda Maintance Facility ) as data analyst and also we have special guest from instructor mas Iga Narendra somehow he’s avgeek too :D
when i was build this small community in bangkit 2023 i feel like refresh again and somehow i manage them to know each more close and help them to got capstone team, build this coomunity it was something because in others channel no-one have weekly talk like us in every friday night :D and also becuase pandemic where i cant meet my community in real life somehow i can make one and many came from others part of indonesia.So that’s all my experience, thank you, see you in another story……
